….So I’m running around in the city on a Tuesday afternoon, I bump into two childhood friends and were catching up on life on the downtown 4 train. As were chatting on this crowded subway car, I’m easily distracted by this adorable brightly colored hat. I liked how it stood out and complimented this stylista’s gorgeous face. It almost showcased her personality. Darn, next stop is mine, I snap a photo as I’m still engaged in a full on conversation. read more

On a busy day in the city, directly after a fun tour with 3 Canadian lovelies, I was dashing uptown and I pass this young woman on the street. As I passed her by, I thought to myself what a nice look. I about faced, walked up introduced myself and asked if she would be gracious enough to strike a Stylista pose! Her name is Rachael Matican, she is a public relations assistant for Guess Inc. What I admired most about her look was that she has a great figure, and her entire ensemble completely complimented it. Her confidence pulled it all together!

This is David! He is an image consultant and the star of an internet reality show called “Concrete & Cashmere” which is a NYC web–based reality show that follows the lives of 8 aspiring fashion professionals competing for $10,000… Here he is demonstrating how good a man can look on a sweltering summer day. The soft pastel shirt pops, the pocket square compliments the shirt without over doing it, the vest keeps it light, and the brown shoes with black trousers clearly says to all men, you do NOT have to be afraid of a brown shoe. You’d be surprised at how many men are opposed to a brown, or bordeaux, shoe. The most important thing this look highlights is fit. Fit is King! Bravo David…. Bravisimo!

On a beautiful summer Saturday in New York, I came upon a darling Russian woman. Her white dress caught my eye, what a great vintage piece I thought. She told me it was handmade and she purchased it 30 years ago in the Ukraine (that little country in Eastern Europe that is bordered by Russia). Could you imagine 30 years ago… and it’s in mint condition and she’s still the same size! Moya…that means sweet in Russian.

Ilse Jacobsen • Hornbæk shows only two shoe collections annually, however she is known for her fab rub-rain-boots. The Scandinavian imports are fleece lined keeping your feet dry and toasty at all times… these rain boots are made of a full oil resistant rubber sole, and rubber upper. The signature lace up detail adds a lot of personality. Although they are easy to find in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany and Iceland you can find them at a few of my favorite spots in NYC! While it seems like all of New York is wearing Hunter rubber boots, I’m a fan of this one!
