Dashing through the streets of Madison Avenue, I came across Camila and Valeria- two lovely young ladies visiting and basking in the splendor of New York City, while celebrating their own individual styles…
Camila (left) from Peru and Valeria from Argentina… obliged me with a quick pose before hurrying off to the handsome gentleman waiting for them across the street! Adios chicas…

It’s all about the fit. And this young shopper’s look says it all. We spotted him adding the final touches to this ensemble. All we can say is, can somebody get him a role on Gossip Girl?

Our “Style In The City” section of our blog serves to celebrate individual style on the streets of New York City. John Fairchild designer and publisher of Women’s Wear Daily in the early 1960’s once said ““Style” is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma”. I believe that is exactly what these two ladies are expressing here! On two different occasions last week, I came across two individual women who use denim & fur according to their personality and lifestlye. Marlyn on the left is a 17 year old student in Manhattan. I love her relaxed Saturday afternoon look, yet the fur and fringed handbag added a sweet touch of glamour. Gina on the right is a hair stylist, a wife and a mother, who added some spice to her weekend look by donning a well fitted chic vintage fur. Of course you can wear denim with fur, or faux fur. Go for it!

Running around in a walking city like New York can be exhausting at times. Yes I’ve done it in heels but prefer not to. I always admire people who can walk around in sneakers and still look cute. read more

This sweet Canadian couple scored some great buys and had a blast on their Stylista Shopping Tour! They purchased 95% of merchandise that was hand picked specifically for them by one of our very own Stylistas! Bertrand & Lyne left New York City with new fall wardrobes, including holiday outfits! These were just a few of their bags….

….So I’m running around in the city on a Tuesday afternoon, I bump into two childhood friends and were catching up on life on the downtown 4 train. As were chatting on this crowded subway car, I’m easily distracted by this adorable brightly colored hat. I liked how it stood out and complimented this stylista’s gorgeous face. It almost showcased her personality. Darn, next stop is mine, I snap a photo as I’m still engaged in a full on conversation. read more

On a busy day in the city, directly after a fun tour with 3 Canadian lovelies, I was dashing uptown and I pass this young woman on the street. As I passed her by, I thought to myself what a nice look. I about faced, walked up introduced myself and asked if she would be gracious enough to strike a Stylista pose! Her name is Rachael Matican, she is a public relations assistant for Guess Inc. What I admired most about her look was that she has a great figure, and her entire ensemble completely complimented it. Her confidence pulled it all together!

This is David! He is an image consultant and the star of an internet reality show called “Concrete & Cashmere” which is a NYC web–based reality show that follows the lives of 8 aspiring fashion professionals competing for $10,000… Here he is demonstrating how good a man can look on a sweltering summer day. The soft pastel shirt pops, the pocket square compliments the shirt without over doing it, the vest keeps it light, and the brown shoes with black trousers clearly says to all men, you do NOT have to be afraid of a brown shoe. You’d be surprised at how many men are opposed to a brown, or bordeaux, shoe. The most important thing this look highlights is fit. Fit is King! Bravo David…. Bravisimo!

On a beautiful summer Saturday in New York, I came upon a darling Russian woman. Her white dress caught my eye, what a great vintage piece I thought. She told me it was handmade and she purchased it 30 years ago in the Ukraine (that little country in Eastern Europe that is bordered by Russia). Could you imagine 30 years ago… and it’s in mint condition and she’s still the same size! Moya…that means sweet in Russian.
