It`s not too late to plan a spectacular, romantic surprise for your loved one on Valentine`s day. What could be more exciting and romantic than a last minute trip to New York City? So I receive this beautiful handmade headband for my birthday. I’m not particularly a headband wearing individual but this was perfectly picked by an amazing stylist, and it really works on me! I inquired where he picked it up, he said a friend of his makes them. I was then invited to the desingers launch party to view the collection.
The designer Maria Escobar who worked for a fortune 500 company for over a decade decided to re-invent herself during this current economic climate. Her daughter who is a student in the arts is her partner. Together with combined inspiration they hand-make each piece of they’re intimate collection. This was one of SST’s favorite Black Friday item. When we shop for others, often we find an item that is simply irresistible. We quickly scroll through the imaginary customized Louis Vuitton Stylista rolodex to see who it should belong to! Depending on the client and the their budget we know just what to do. Our primary focus is always to accommodate our customer’s specific needs. We have one (of many) clients who calls us with her wish list items. If she doesn’t need it immediately, We watch the item throughout the season and suggest when to purchase. It amazes us how happy the client becomes when she gets what she wants at her price point. We seek to spend smart for all Stylista clientelle.

There are quite a few shops in New York city that specialize in made-to-measure lingerie. Now London-based company Coco de Mer, purveyor of “erotic luxury” is opening its first store in New York City. The inspiration for the shop gets it’s name from the Coco de Mer seed only found on two islands in the entire world. The Coco De Mer is a fruit that resembles both male & female anatomy. Yesterday I visited the Gucci sneaker Pop-Up shop in Soho. The concept of a pop up store is reminiscent of a gallery with exhibitions. Pop ups are rarely announced, quickly draw in the crowds, and then vanish! They serve to tease and generate buzz around their brand. The Gucci pop-up shop is exclusively on Crosby Street for two weeks only. They carry a limited selection of limited edition foot wear, mostly donned by sneaker aficionados. There are 18 styles, including two pieces for women and one designed by famed DJ and music producer Marc Ronson. I have to say I did like what I saw, and I would wear one of the styles for women. read more
